Hartsell Ozery, P.A is proud to announce a victory before the Board of County Commissioners regarding the proposed plan of a K-12 Calvary Chapel Christian School in Jupiter Farms, Florida. Following the public hearing, the Board voted 6-1 to deny the application, resulting in a significant outcome for Jupiter Farm Residents. The decision upholds the protections established under the neighborhood plan to limit nonresidential intensity and preserve the rural character of the neighborhood.
Calvary Chapel Christian School was unable to justify the necessity and compatibility of the proposed elementary and secondary school campus which would occupy 18.6 acres and potential impacts Jupiter Farm’s residents through disruption, noise, and traffic congestion. The proposed school would have attracted students from as far as St. Lucie County making it a regional rather than local draw. The County Commission recognized that this was the right thing, but it is in the wrong place.
