Robert N. Hartsell, P.A. is pleased to announce that Ryan Abrams was selected as the firm’s in-house clinical intern. Mr. Abrams is a third year law student attending Nova Southeastern University School of Law and participating in its Environmental and Land Use Law Clinic. He will graduate this year in May with his Juris Doctorate. Mr. Abrams has focused his legal studies primarily on Environmental and Land Use law. He is a native Floridian, born and raised in South Florida. Throughout his upbringing here, Mr. Abrams has gained a passion for environmental conservation. He regularly spends time in the outdoors, appreciating all kinds of activities from kayaking to fishing. At NSU Law, Mr. Abrams sits on the executive board of the Environmental and Land-Use Law Society, an on-campus student organization that promotes environmental awareness. During his tenure on the executive board, Mr. Abrams has assisted in the planning and coordination of field trips which exposed other law students to Florida’s unique and little-known environmental treasures, such as the Loxahatchee River.
Mr. Abrams has gained significant recognition for his environmental and land use law studies. He finished the top of his class in two environmental law courses he has taken at NSU Law. Ryan authored an in-depth white paper analyzingthe effects of agricultural activities and associated land uses on the South Florida ecosystem, and the inadequacies of the land use laws that are enacted to address them. This excellent piece was accepted by and will be published by the University of Denver Water Law Review in June.
We are proud to have Mr. Abrams (Ryan) join the firm. His personal connection with the South Florida environment as well as his growing knowledge of Environmental and Land-Use Law will certainly prove to be a well needed asset for the firm. He will be assigned to the both Environmental and Land Use Law cases.
